Call for Abstracts

Submissions are now open to submit either a research abstract (400 words) or a Special Session (synopsis, suggested speakers and format - 600 words) under the following themes.

Abstract or Special Submission Cut-off Date:
Midnight (EST), 1st September 2026

  • Social housing, communities and inclusion

  • Homelessness and informal housing

  • Design, construction, retrofit, digitalisation and productivity

  • First Nations knowledges and experiences

  • Economics, finance, incomes and affordability

  • Health, housing and sustainability

  • Policy, urban planning and governance

  • Climate crisis, energy justice, and resilience

  • Housing regimes, politics and comparative analysis

  • Private ownership, rental and short-letting markets

  • Special sessions: organised by the chair.

Special session

If this is something you are interested in organising and chairing, please submit a synopsis, suggested speakers and format. All presenters in these sessions must register and submit abstracts for the conference.

Submission Guidelines

Research Abstracts

Your abstract must follow the format conditions. 

Title of Research Abstract (20 words)

Authors and affiliations, plus presenting author biographical details (100 words)

Research Abstract (400 words) 

Abstract Submission - the pages online will take you through the process of submitting your abstract. 

  • Each of the tabs on the left-hand side of the page will bring up a step in the submission process that needs to be completed.  If you see a X against an orange step, it means it is yet to be completed.

  • At any time in the process you can click the Save As Draft button to save your incomplete submission and return to it at a later time. 

  • The Review section will give you an overview of the sections that are still required to be completed before you can submit your abstract. 

  • Once all required sections have been completed, you can submit your abstract in the Submit section of this page.

CONDITIONS
* Please note that figures and tables are not to be included.
* Abstract word count is strictly 400 words across all sections (excluding Abstract Title). Abstracts over this count will not be accepted.

Special Session Submission

If this is something you are interested in organising and chairing, please submit a synopsis, suggested speakers and format. All presenters in these sessions must register and submit abstracts for the conference.

Your must follow the formatting conditions for your Special Session.  

  • Title of Special Session Submission (20 words)

  • Synopsis of Special Session (300 words) - Please include key message and focus.

  • Proposed Speakers (or Organisation) (100 words) - Name of proposed lead speaker and representative organisation (optional)

  • Format of Session - (200 words) - The format should be clearly spelt out to assist with programming.
